Meet Maria Iliffe-Wood

 

I am British and live just outside Leicester in England. My online students join my online courses from across the globe.


I'm a writer and author and I've been a certified coach for over 30 years. I started my own publishing company,  IW Press Ltd., in 2020 during the pandemic.


When I first started writing, I hated it with a vengeance, I had to do it for my coaching qualification, and somehow the habit stuck. Writing is now an integral part of my daily life.


I have written three books and contributed to another two. I have self-published books and helped a number of other authors write, edit and publish their books.


I didn't set out to start my own publishing company, it came about because people were asking me for help with their books and it became the obvious thing to do.  You can read that story on ThriveGlobal

I am a registered Three Principles Practitioner, one of only a handful in the UK.  I was delighted to be interviewed by Del Adey Jones - a Coach, Mentor, Speaker, Blogger and host of “Insightful Conversations with Del Adey-Jones” on her weekly live-streaming YouTube and Podcast series.


I talk about the link between my writing and my understanding of the Three Principles. I talk about how insights come through my writing and have helped to deepen my understanding of how life works, and how an awareness of the Three Principles has made my writing life so much easier. I also share how writing a book mirrors life. The kinds of stumbling blocks and issues that we face in life, will show up in our writing journey.

In the video below I talk about how I got started as a publishing press and my role as a contributing author and publisher of A Different Story, How Six Authors became Better Writers. This was the first book published by IW Press Ltd and all author royalties go to Storybook Dads, a charity that helps children stay connected with their parents in prison.

I am full member of the Association for Coaching and the Association of Coaching Supervisors and comply with both codes of ethics. My book, Coaching Presence; Building Consciousness and Awareness into Coaching Interventions has been published in English, Russian and South Korean and has been read in over 20 countries. It is on the recommended reading list for many University Coaching Courses.


I have been a coach for over 30 years. I have worked with hundreds of leaders across a range of sectors and in a variety of different countries. I also work with coaches who want to develop their coaching practice.

I work with people who want to take a leap in their personal development or professional growth. Often people who want to grow their leadership and/or coaching capability and are ready to go beyond models, theories, tools and techniques.
